Acupuncture for Fertility,
Hormone Balance & Whole-Body Wellness
Personalized acupuncture treatments designed to support fertility, reproductive health, pregnancy, menopause, mental well-being, and overall health.
A Gentle, Time-Tested Approach to Healing
Using hair-thin, sterile needles, acupuncture stimulates specific points throughout the body to support natural healing and restore balance.
Acupuncture may help improve circulation, reduce inflammation, regulate hormones, calm the nervous system, and support overall wellness. While every person's experience is different, most patients find treatments deeply relaxing and often leave feeling rested and restored.
You may feel a dull, heavy sensation, tingling, warmth, or nothing at all during treatment. Patients rarely report pain from acupuncture needles.

Healing is about more than needles. At Karuna Acupuncture, every treatment is designed around you, with the time, attention, and individualized care needed to support lasting results.
Supporting Your Treatment Plan
Tools We May Incorporate Into Your Care
While acupuncture is the foundation of care at Karuna Acupuncture, additional therapies may be recommended when appropriate to support your goals and enhance treatment outcomes.
Cupping Therapy
Using either a pneumatic pump or traditional fire cupping techniques, small glass cups are placed on the body to create gentle suction. Cupping can help release muscle tension, improve circulation, and support recovery.
You may notice temporary circular marks after treatment, which typically fade within a few days.
Chinese Herbs & Targeted Supplements
Herbal medicine and whole-food supplements are customized to your individual health concerns, goals, and constitution.
When appropriate, these recommendations can work alongside acupuncture to help restore balance and support optimal health.
Functional Nutrition
Food has a powerful impact on healing and overall well-being.
Nutritional guidance is personalized to your unique needs, helping you make sustainable choices that support hormone health, fertility, digestion, energy, and long-term wellness.

Common Questions About Acupuncture
-
Acupuncture should not hurt. You may feel some tingling, heaviness, a zing or nothing at all. Acupuncture needles are about the size of a cat whisker. When many people think of needles, they think about the hypodermic needles used to draw blood. You can fit about 20 acupuncture needles into one hypodermic needle! My goal is to put you into a very relaxed state and many patients take a nap once the needles are inserted. They look forward to their acu-nap.
-
That depends upon the treatment I am doing but most treatments use about 10-20 needles total.
-
That depends on the treatment I am doing and what I am treating but most acupuncture points will be from elbows to hands, knees to feet, belly, low back, ears and head.
-
This varies by individual and what I am treating. For pain conditions, some people feel relief after one session, while others benefit from a series of treatments over several weeks. For fertility I will generally see you for weekly for at least three months. At your first visit I will go over your personalized treatment plan that includes number and frequency of visits.
-
Generally speaking, acupuncture improves circulation, decreases inflammation, triggers the brain to release endorphin, serotonin and other natural pain relief chemicals, balances hormones, among many other actions! Acupuncture works on the body, mind and spirit for truly wholistic and integrated healing from within.
Acupuncture is an entire system of medicine has been safely used for thousands of years to diagnose, prevent and treat disease. Acupuncture treats the root cause, not just the symptoms, for lasting relief.

At your first visit we’ll take a deep dive into your health history, current symptoms, diet and lifestyle as well as your wellness goals. I do a physical assessment including pulse and tongue observation. I will develop a treatment plan specifically for you. We will also do you first acupuncture treatment during this visit. The first visit is an hour and a half.
At follow-up visits we’ll do a check in on how you are feeling and your acupuncture treatment. These visits are about an hour.
-
Be sure to eat a light meal before hand. We are working with your body’s own energy so if you are coming in empty there is less to work with. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid alcohol, excessive caffeine or drugs beforehand
-
Acupuncture has some great side effects! Regardless of what we are treating, patients generally feel more relaxed, sleep better, handle stress better, and have a greater sense of general well-being. Occasionally, patients notice minor bruising at needle sites, temporary fatigue, or slight soreness — these typically resolve within a day.
-
Some insurance plans do include acupuncture benefits however most insurance companies only cover acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain or nausea due to pregnancy or chemotherapy. I am an in network provider with United Healthcare. If you have out of network acupuncture benefits I am happy to provide you with a super bill to submit for reimbursement.
